The Story Behind Spirit River Yoga and Massage
Originally rebranded in Princeton MN a lovely river town located on the Rum River which flows from the headwaters of Mille Lacs Lake.
History says originally Mille Lacs Lake was called Spirit Lake and the river that flowed through our region was referred to as Spirit River. Settlers lost the meaning of Spirit in translation and now we have the Rum River.
As a land acknowledgment and with much respect to Minnesota's rich Indigenous culture. I chose the sacred space of my yoga studio to be named after The Spirit River.
Just like Spirit that flows freely through all time and space. My hope is the share healing intentions on the Spirit River of life to reach far and wide. Like water, life flows relocating and Spirit River Yoga to International Falls, MN.
